What is Negotiation ?

Negotiation Definition. Maybe you have ever heard that the purpose of negotiation is to get win-win solution. Win-win solution is a creative way in which both you and your opponent can leave the negotiation table with feeling that you have won. Perhaps it is better if we illustrate it with e persons that have only an orange, yet both persons want it.

So, they are talking about the orange for a while and decide that the best way that they can do is to split the orange exactly at the middle and each of both agrees to get half of the orange from the intact orange that they actually desire. To make sure that it is fair, they agree that one of them to split the orange, and the other one is choosing. When they are talking about the needs that encourage them to do negotiation, they find that one of them want to make orange juice and the other one is wanting the orange peel to make a pie.

Miraculously they had found a way where both sides can win and nobody has to lose. Of course! It could happen in the real world, but it is not enough to make a meaningful concept. Let's face it, when you are doing a negotiation, the chance is the opposition trying to get something similar as you wish. There will be no win-win solution. If they buy, they want the lowest possible price while you want the highest price. If they sell, they want the highest possible price while you want the lowest price. They want to drain money from your wallet and put it in their wallets.
