What is the Difference between Dual Core and Core 2 Duo?

Zhimzone.com | Technically, if we look the claim, Intel, Core 2 Duo is more power efficient about 40 percent compared with a Dual Core processor performance of its predecessor, and it also has a 40 percent faster. In addition, a larger L2 cache is also fully equipped with latest technology; it is called as smart cache, which makes performing so much better. (PC + 277)

Core 2 Duo processor performance is very different if compared with an Intel Pentium D Presler series especially Smithfield Pentium D series that are still using Intel NetBurst microarchitecture. Compared with the rivals, AMD Athlon FX 60, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor speed is about 2400 MHz surpassing the performance difference with approximately 15%. If AMD Athlon FX processor is over-clocked to 3.4 GHz, the processor is thinner than the superior Core 2 Duo 2400 MHz. This means the Intel Core 2 Duo is much more efficient than its predecessor in executing instructions. (Sam)
