Durkheim argues that the subject of sociology studies should be narrowed to a field that can be described in order to distinguish sociology with the other social studies. To that end, Durkheim proposed that we should limit the sociology to the analysis study of social facts. By Durkheim social facts are explained in two ways.
The first definition he gave to the social fact is any method or course of action that can move the individual from external pressure, such as financial systems, languages, and other actions. Then he added every public action in society. These include religious institutions, cultural traditions and regional customs.
