Human progress has been achieved in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is something we should be grateful because it will facilitate human progress in doing the work and tasks that we need to do. However, not all progress has been achieved such a positive impact. Among the progress achieved, turned out to have negative impacts on humans. Below will be described positive impacts (benefits) and negative (disadvantages) of using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in social, educational, economic, and governance.
A. In the Social Sector
Advantages:
1. Rapid advancement of communication technology to facilitate communication between one place and another place.
Disadvantages:
1. With the rapid change of communication make the original form of communication in the form of face to face to be not. This can cause communication to be empty.
2. Someone who constantly interacts with a computer would likely be someone who is individualistic.
3. With the rapid information technology in both the Internet and other media create opportunities for the inclusion of things that are pornographic, porn-action, and violence more easily.
4. Progress of ICT would also further exacerbate social inequalities that occur in society between the rich and the poor.
5. The rise of cyber crime that continues to overshadow such as carding, caused cracker, data manipulation and various other cyber crime

B. In the Education Sector
Advantages:
1. Information needed will be more quick and easy access to educational purposes.

3. Progress of ICT also will enable the development of a virtual classroom or classroom-based teleconference that does not require that the educator and learners are in one room.
4. Administration system in an educational institution will be more easily and smoothly due to the application of ICT systems.
Disadvantages:
1. Progress of ICT will also simplify the occurrence of violation of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) as more easily access data that is causing people to commit fraud plagiarism.
2. Although the system of administration of an educational institution likes a system without a gap, but if there is carelessness in running the system will be fatal.
3. One of the negative impacts of television is to train children to think short and survive to concentrate in a short time (short span of attention).
C. In the Economic Field
Advantages:
1. The more widespread use of ICTs will further open jobs.
2. ICT-based business or so-called e-commerce transactions to facilitate business-traansaksi a firm or individual
3. With facilities in the internet advertising on certain sites will facilitate the promotion and marketing of a product.
Disadvantages:

D. In the Government Sector
Advantages:
1. Information Technology and Communication which was developed in government or called e-government which it makes people easier to access to government policy so that the program launched by the government to proceed smoothly.
2. e-government can also support a more efficient government management, and can improve communication between government and business sectors and industries.
3. The community can give input about policies made by the government so that it can improve government performance.
Disadvantages:
